For the car's all-wheel-drive large with supercharged V-6 performance, 2013 Audi A7 lineup is not good enough. Its 18 mpg city, 28 highway EPA ratings are better than some all-wheel drive sedan other smaller and lighter.
New eight-speed automatic transmission plays a part, which allows a very wide range of gear, including a very high top gear and low revs cruising the highway.
From what we have seen, the A7 is quite green if you show some restraint. For about 120 miles of driving in the mix, most relaxed driving conditions, we saw an average of nearly 22 miles per gallon. But we see that as soon as we dipped into reserves supercharged engine was out on average dropped noticeably.
High performance S7, with its 420 horsepower turbocharged V-8, is actually almost as efficient. It has a 17/27 rating. And it's worth pointing out that the A7 manages only 1 mpg better on the whole than the A8 L sedan is bigger, which has a much roomier interior rear seats and much more.
If you are okay with a model that is much more conservative in appearance and feel, the E350 Bluetec gets 33 mpg EPA highway.
