The GMC Acadia gets a lot of improvements for 2013, but fuel economy is not one of them. As a vehicle, large and heavy crossovers that do not incorporate hybrid technology, the Acadia gets highway fuel economy that some might deem acceptable. But city rankings that may be hard to stomach.
EPA Rates Acadia at 17/24 mpg in front-drive versions, and the mpg 16/23 in all-wheel-drive model. Based on past drive in Acadia, and Chevrolet Traverse is almost identical and Buick Enclave, we tend to think those numbers are a bit optimistic.
GM has changed the transmission control for 2013, and we have noted in the past that the six-speed automatic in Acadia not able to give the range of range of ratios to keep the revs low when cruising on the highway.
