Whether you choose the sedan or Sportback styles (hatchback) 2013 Lancer family of the body, in the guise of its Lancer, Ralliart or Evolution, what you get is a form, a box-shaped cabin is relatively simple, and that brings an impressive interior space, as well as good usability and flexibility. But throughout the lineup, this model is very short of perfection, the material feels cheap, and the quality of the ride can be harsh.
The front seats in the Lancer that support and slightly larger and better-supported than many other small cars, they also produce position, both upright and reasonable driving distance comfort. At the rear, there is enough room to fit a couple of adults in the rear seat for short trips. Trunk space in the sedan were surprisingly good, while in the five-door Sportback models (offered in the ES and GT trim) rear seatbacks fold forward for a nearly flat cargo floor. Between the two body styles, rear seat space is identical, though.
That is good. The bad is that, in one model, noise and ride comfort can be a deal-breaker. DE and ES models (and SE) come with suspension a little softer and more forgiving tire comfort-oriented buyers would probably prefer. But especially in the form of GT, Lancer ride hard enough, and with a lot of road noise to match the engine. Inside, the cabin materials are clear grounds, with lots of hard plastic, hollow-sounding, and the model CVT engine gets raucous and buzzy on acceleration.
We would like to say that Evolution or Ralliart much better and smoother than the lower models, but they are not. You get a much better sport seats in the Evo, but the structure of the ring as the pound and the trip was really blaring in the hole-ridden roads Rust Belt. Those with back problems need not apply.
