For 2013, the Beetle Convertible Beetle Coupe joined in the lineup, but apart from the pinnacle of power-folding soft easy, there is not much difference in the way outside of the trunk.
Compared to the previous generation New Beetle, 2013 Beetle is longer - about six inches - and roomier inside as a result.
Most of the room to go to the front seat, which is roomy enough for most adults. The rear seats are more than "2 plus" configuration, best reserved for kids and gear.
Flat-bottomed seats standard on the base Beetle, although more seats Turbo supported and still very comfortable. Seat controls are within easy reach and offers a variety of adjustments, including height. Seating position slightly toward the center to make it difficult to avoid contact with the center tunnel - or to make contact with the door armrest.
A shallow dash (thanks to the windshield angle is steeper) and overall length adds extra space to the cabin, which still manages to feel open, although the flat-topped roof, thanks to the ample headroom. In Convertible, complete open-air experience.
Convertible get wind guard that Stows folded, folded, in a special niche in the trunk. When in place, do a good job to reduce buffeting, but it eliminates the possibility of rear-seat passengers, and has a tendency to sway and vibrate with the wind.
Small-item storage has been carved into most nooks and crannies that are available. Traditional glove box is deep, after you ditch the thick owner's manual. Kaeferfach available aluminum box has a pop-out lever is wonderful, but it's pretty shallow and tall, and quite un-useful. Shallow dish dash mount practically made for aftermarket GPS and your smartphone will fit nicely in the trash front shifter. Pens and Post-Its about all you will wedge into the armrest bin available.
On paper Beetle trunk is larger than its predecessor, with up to 15.4 cubic feet of space, but the sloping hatchback means only a pair of roller bags and some soft-siders will fit unless you fold down the rear seat. Bonus: they lie nearly flat, and the cargo area expands to just under 30 cubic feet. Model Convertible offers luggage space is almost the same, minus the storage space for the wind deflector, because Stows soft top in the trunk.
Fold-down rear seats in the Coupe Beetle reduced to a pass-through in the conversion, however, such as pyrotechnic pop-up rollover protection behind the rear seats fit.
With thin glass and consequently a bit more noise than the European version, the North American Beetles tend to be slightly on the noisy side, most obviously in the Turbo models, although all Beetles showed relatively high wind noise, tire-tring, and occasional high speed whistle.
