With a throaty V-8 under the hood and under the feet of graceful dynamics, Maserati GranTurismo feels as fluid as it looks, at rest or at speed.

Last year Maserati makes 4.7-liter V-8 - derived from the Ferrari design - standard on both body styles. This year, all uprated version, the conversion of the base into a model with only 44 horsepower and 376 pound-feet of torque - the lowest specific output this year, but last year's peak rate. All other versions get 10 hp for a total of 454 hp and 384 lb-ft of torque. Trip up powerband is traveling with soundtrack aural sensation second to none: it makes a beautiful sound like a stab at redline, pouring on acceleration and barking out staccato rap through sport-exhaust system can get a little boomy at times.

All versions are now adopting improved ZF six-speed automatic with sport control, once reserved for the MC and Sport models. Quick Gearchanges, manual mode that holds gears and throttle-blipping on downshifts make transmission determines that makes sense in the grand tourer, and calming the lack of a manual transmission.

Drivetrain generating performance numbers are tight, with the coupe zipping to 60 mph in 4.7 seconds is expected, reaching a top speed of 185 mph. The base Sport convertible takes 5.1 seconds to reach 60 mph and reaches 177 mph, while the conversion of Sport shave two-tenths of a second of the 60-mph times and reach the same top speed. All figures are slightly faster than in 2012.

The Ferrari-inspired soundtrack and performance will captivate you, and handling GranTurismo beautiful sorted-out will seduce you into the grand touring Italian schools. This agile - no, you do not need "to size" here - helped by fast steering and near-ideal weight balance, front to back. Amateurs can feel out of bounds car without too much worry, and the GranTurismo compliant enough to soak up some bad driving and still make it look good. Heavy ground-hugging nearly £ 4,400 to help here, but so are the Skyhook automatic suspension, which has the option of normal reflexes or Sport, both to be good in the luxury car comfort limit. There was a slight movement of the body that are not controlled in the GranTurismo, and a Sport mode firms up further up, while it sharpens throttle response. Big Brembo brakes have excellent feel that will remind you of some of the more exotic machinery.
The GranTurismo MC has a star here for a standard single-rate suspension. Skyhook is still an option, but the MC comes from the factory ready for the competition, with standard eye and shocks, sport transmission, a limited-slip differential, sport-tweak stability control, and Pirelli PZero Corsa tires, 245/35-ZR20 front and 285 / 35-ZR20 tears. Collectors and racers will love cornering really flat and carbon fiber trim, but others would be better suited in a car Skyhook equipped with all luxurious wood trimming.
