2013 Suzuki Kizashi is not at the top of its class for safety, but it remains one of the better picks, thanks to some pretty good ratings and safety minded some features that are not so common in this class.
In Insurance Institute for Highway (IIHS) Safety testing, the Kizashi has earned top 'good' ratings for frontal and side impacts and rear impacts, but they produce only 'acceptable' for roof strength. On the other hand, it's one of only a few new models to get top 'good' ratings in tests new small overlap frontal. Federal NCAP score for the Kizashi is not available - and therefore the model is relatively slow-selling may not be included as part of that program.
Kizashi includes eight airbags as standard, as well as the back side of the bag. And the model Kizashi with all-wheel drive (AWD) - which can by itself provide a more secure handling in some all weather situations - the stability control system can activate a powerful boost to quickly countersteer steering and drive appropriate corrective action in a skid. The all-wheel-drive is a multi-mode system that allows the front wheel drive operation, but the safety features work in either mode.
