Minivan designers face a very difficult task - trying to make the boxes on wheels that attractive and stylish, without giving space efficiency. And they get it right with the Odyssey in several respects. While it's pretty generic from behind, it was fitted with the Honda from the front and from the side profile is quite easy to pick out in a crowd.
Overall, the 2013 Honda Odyssey continues to borrow more design details of Honda cars than it does from the Pilot crossover like. A few years ago, Odyssey received a redesign that brings a little more arched roofline plus more brightwork accents throughout. But the nature of the most recent design is the addition of a significant hump "lightning" through the back window, it was a gesture that serves to add much needed flair and design visibility outside help, a little.
Other design cues from the record, outside, is a small front window in front of the mirror, which also helps with visibility but help the design stand out as more manly, and rear fender sheetmetal under and behind the "lightning" - it's more attractive and aerodynamically sculpted than you'll find in other minivans.
Inside, the Odyssey is more common, and that the re-design and carry only evolutionary change. Familiar instrument panel design and erect, somewhat swoopy rest and maximize space. In contrast to the sea-of-view offered in the strip of some Honda and Acura passenger cars and crossover interior, what's here is the layout of the refreshingly simple control that contains the buttons and controls.
