Overall 2013 Subaru BRZ

The all-new 2013 Subaru BRZ is a pure sports car is lighter, leaner, and more focused than affordable sports cars on the market today. The only exception, perhaps, is the Scion FR-S is almost identical to that you will find in the Toyota dealer.

With the BRZ, you do not have to worry about feeling detached from the driving experience, it is back-to-basics sports car in some respects, but has a higher tensile-strength structural steels-modern, all the necessary modern safety features and amenities such as Bluetooth, iPod controls, and a touch screen navigation system is standard.

And it's simple enough baggage to drive, with steering, handling, and low-slung, seat-of-the-pants driving feel part of it. Communicative, quick-ratio steering, combined with a tight suspension settings but just compliant enough to allow you to enjoy the tight corners, read the road surface with your hand, and get a sense of where the dynamics of the BRZ is coming before the tires lose adhesion.

Power will not be a strong point for those who have test-driven some sports car with a turbocharged heavy or big V-8, but the 200-horsepower, 2.0-liter horizontally opposed ("boxer 'or' flat ') four-cylinder engine You can squirt excited from corner to corner as long as you keep revving high. The, precise short-throw six-speed manual is what we recommend, but those who want to automatically will not be let down by a six-speed auto, with its steering-wheel paddle shifters, sport mode and downshift rev matching. But the reward of lightweight construction and small engines are great fuel economy up to 34 mpg highway.

The BRZ will be a popular choice for weekend track excursions, and for that there is not just Sport Mode for the DSC stability control but also a full-off mode. A Torsen limited-slip differential also helps provide surer footing the rear wheel out of corners both on the track and in the tight, curvy road. Taller drivers will even be able to match the racing helmet on, and the rear backrest folds forward to fit the extra wheel or gear.

Unfortunately, the BRZ is not all that comfortable or versatile outside of it. While the trip was well on the road behind or around the city-and we like driving a somewhat upright position tends to get a bit busy and noisy on the highway pockmarked, and the front seats a little too strong and could use another adjustment. Good enough trunk space for a weekend trip carefully packed, yet narrow enough opening load. And those rear seats do you see? They're just teasing, and only good for child seats ... possible.

The BRZ has proved worth Subaru Ring lightweight body structure, which takes advantage of high tensile-strength steel, but has been named An IIHS Top Safety, with top 'good' ratings across the board in crash tests body.

Given the focus on technique and performance capabilities you get with the BRZ, it's pretty impressive that the sports car starts at $ 26,265. But looking at the feature set BRZ was made all the more impressive. Especially, touch screen navigation system comes standard, but we expect her fussy audio controls are a bit easier to access. Once again considering the price, it's all quite unforgivable, and we tend to think of this as one of a small Subaru bargain-decade performance and, perhaps, an instant classic.
