Focused sports cars often end up sacrificing some comfort and usability in favor of better dynamics, light curb weight, and stronger performance Subaru BRZ and 2013 is no exception. While the BRZ is not exactly roomy, it was spacious enough for two bags and weekends, and comfortable enough for a trip or an excursion out on the way back, even though we can think of a better choice for a long time working hard on the Interstate.
The BRZ offers a fairly good driving position a little more upright than most other sports cars with seats firmly and fairly well supported. In the Limited models, there is a slight upgrade bolsters and Alcantara (suede-like) trim. There is a back seat, but this is really a 2 +2, adults will not be able to get to it easily, or even managed to wedge their feet behind the front seats.
From the side or rear, BRZ looks like it could be a hatchback, with a long glass, rear side, but there is actually a small trunklid, it helps keep the structure rigid body, but results in a narrow opening load. That said, there is quite a bit of space back there-enough for some laptop bag and a small suitcase. Subaru also said that with the rear seatbacks folded forward (and using the pass-through), you can load four racing tires plus tools.
And in a nod to a common problem for tall drivers who race weekend, there were abundant enough headroom to get a helmet on, and be comfortable with it.
Overall, if you are of average height or shorter, you may find seats BRZ enough to offer decent support for a longer trip. But higher driver will find their legs splayed, the center stack, with the lower cushions are too strong after a few hours. The chair also missing middle-back kind of support is quite common even in inexpensive cars now, a short lower cushions could be more workable if they are adjusted.
There's really no such thing as feeling irrespective of BRZ Subaru driving experience, and while it's mostly a good thing, it turned into a burden at times when you prefer to turn off your inner racer for a few hours and set the cruise control. Unless you are on the surface of the road is almost perfect, the BRZ tends to rise and fall with patchwork bound highway, and although the track is straight and you rarely push of course, the experience can be exhausting.
If not, a simple 'good' applies to most interior BRZ and the control and display. We also found the orange-red needles and instruments show a very easy to read with polarized sunglasses. About the only problem we have is ergonomic with a touch screen system mandatory for audio and navigation. For some audio functions it leaves you reach a small 'button' on the touch screen which can be much more difficult to find quickly than the real thing.
