2013 Lexus RX facelift leaked prior to Geneva 2012

Although it was not a complete redesign, Lexus has quite a few tweaks planned for 2013 its RX range. We got an early glimpse of the new face with the grouping crossover leaked brochure scans, and now, it appears that some semi-official shots has hit the Interwebs stock before CUV's debut at the Geneva Motor Show next week.

We love the look of the new front fascia RX, but that's probably because we're like that in CT, GS and LX, ES not yet come, but that the same spindle grille with LED lights walking pinch flanking both sides. What is most interesting about the 2013 RX, however, is that the F Sport model (pictured right) will be produced, offering a sporty appearance that includes things such as a new front bumper, honeycomb grille, larger wheels and tinted front and rear lights, the other things.

Interior 2013 RX which is scheduled to get a decent improvement as well, with a new center stack with the infotainment screen is now recessed into the top level dashboard. Expect both the RX 350 and RX 450h models will be offered with the powertrains they likely moved from the current model, save a bit of massaging or two. Audi A6 or BMW 5 series or even a Cadillac any day over this "classy" Lexus. And the RX is just another example of the same. we know Lexus is trying to be more inspired and sporty but this new front is just a half assed attempt. They should have design a whole car not just a front clip.

Yes to your point "it (the RX) does just about everything right" but so does a good quality vacuum cleaner or iron. And is just about as inspiring.

What you saw the new GS on the highway with this new hourglass grill and headlight treatment. It looked awful and poorly thought out. Like they grafted an unrelated new front onto and old GS or Camry. The headlamp treatment really looked bad, like someone installed and aftermarket LED light bar onto a late model Mazda 6. What works on your "supercar" concept may not be appropriate for your sport lux sedan line unless the entire car is designed around that same concept and its design cues and elements. This new trend at Lexus of grafting this grill treatment onto every vehicle in the lineup with out intergrating the rest of the vehicle is unfortunate, This RX is another bad example. But I'm sure thousands of suburban soccer moms and real estate agents will snap them up like cupcakes.
