Chrysler gave its closely related Dodge Avenger and Chrysler 200 (formerly Sebring) sedan a much needed refresh a couple of years ago, but despite an impressive advertising campaign with Eminem, the car was mostly a case of too little, too late. Styling tense, low-buck interior, ride busy, and lack of refinement of the original cars only serve to show how they are supposed to be some years before.
When they went to 2013 - for another year before being replaced by all-new models - sedan stands as cheap, economical relative to other mid-sizers, but not fully competitive with respect to styling, features, or fuel.
Although the 200 looks dated on the outside, it was up to the standards of Volkswagen in the inside, and that includes materials and finishes that the world is better than the old hard plastic. Likewise, Chrysler has doubled in isolation to make the 200's interior a very quiet (except for the record four-cylinder engine is rough), and tender way. While the handling and ride quality may still not her forte, 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 and six-speed automatic is smooth and powerful combination of automated base four-cylinder and six-speed combo is tolerable, just stay away from the basic four-speed automatic on the LX .
Silhouettes 2013 Chrysler 200 has a way of tricking you into thinking the cabin is rather small for a mid-size sedan - and the combination of the high dashboard, seats are wide and narrow glass area adds to 'trick' the visuals - but once you climb in your will a convert to Islam, whether by numbers or insidious, 200 stacks extremely well against segment leaders like the Hyundai Sonata. Even in the back, there's enough room for two adults, or three in a pinch, although the high beltline may need some Dramamine.
Chrysler 200 is missing some active safety features are now offered at other mid-size sedan, but it is a safe pick, the highest rating from both the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) and the federal government.
Equipment for the base LX model of generous, but still does not include Bluetooth hands-free calling connectivity. The audio system comes with additional input jack, but also the basic model does not have a USB input or control the iPod. Mid-level Touring sedan offers a V-6 as the optional automatic climate control and added, Homelink garage door opener, power driver's seat, and satellite radio. Sunroof is an option, such as Bluetooth and DVD / hard-drive audio system with 28GB of storage. At the top of the lineup is the Limited layered skin model, with options on that includes navigation with live traffic and voice commands, plus a premium Boston Acoustics sound.
For 2013, Chrysler allows more buyers to obtain a special appearance from 200S to offer as a package an 'S' and not as a separate model. Three different packages S dress models LX, Touring, and limited to include 18-inch wheels painted in polished, black finish grille, fog lamp bezels, projector fog lights, black lights, black badges and Chrysler.
2013 Chrysler 200 remains offered in two door convertible form, offering two engines of the same but with a slightly different equipment levels. This model, while the mainstay of the rental-car fleet, that gets pretty good for those who want a convertible on a tight budget and a plan for a cruise but do not need a vehicle that feels sporty. Back-seat room and luggage space in the 200 convertible, whether you go for a hardtop or softtop, better than in most other drop-peak.
