Overall 2013 Dodge Avenger

The 2013 Dodge Avenger stands out as a refreshingly different, design-wise, but in other respects most fall woefully short in-class high achievers. It's been close to a car worthy of consideration in the crowded mid-size market and away from the only mainstay We will provide a car-rental-but basically, as we said closely associated with the Chrysler 200, it was a case of too little, too late.

In recent years, Chrysler has given it a new V-6 engine, retuned suspension, and the interior is mostly new. It is undoubtedly better than before, but the model was introduced in recent years as the new Ford Fusion and Nissan Altima, along with the Kia Optima and Hyundai Sonata introduced several years ago, has made the tough competition.

What we are relatively sure of is that, especially after a light retouch a few years ago, the Avenger's exterior look attractive and stand out. This is a small take great Charger sedan design, and has a lock on brand unity small car washed from their successful big brother. Big crosshair grille is instantly identitfies as Dodge, but it is upkick in rear fender really is connected to the charger and give just a little muscle. Inside, the cabin Dodge promises a little more polish a few years ago, with some of the finer detail and soft-touch materials around the dash, but the bottom of the dash mostly untouched. And in general, the display does not have a premium view of the Charger or even view, detail of the sporty new Dart cabin.

For everyday buyers most, 2.4-liter, 173-horsepower four-cylinder engine and four-speed automatic should be bypassed and left to right to rental fleets. Four-cylinder engine and six-speed automatic-standard combination in most of the rest of the model line-quite cheerful, but there's a little rough too much at times. If not, the 283-horsepower, 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 is optional is a major upgrade, with the attitude, strong smooth. Most of the time, the six-speed automatic is a good companion, with smooth shifts under full-throttle acceleration, but lighter-duty driving some trembling and confusion. Also, the V-6 has a little problem with torque steer. Avenger has fashioned hydraulic power steering, and a low ride height in the front than in the back, together they provide a decent road manners and feedback, but not happy and toned with the most speed.

The 2013 Avenger may look deceptively small compared to some mid-size new design, with their elongated rooflines, but it's arguably about the same size as the Sonata or Optima. The front seats are comfortable and a little on the wide side, but they lack a lot of back support, in the back there is enough legroom, although the mini-Charger roofline can make it feel a bit limiting. Getting in and out can be a problem in the back seat, too, thanks to the high sills and a low roofline.

Safety has been an area where the Avenger does not disappoint. This is + IIHS Top Safety Pick, and is equipped with curtain airbags and stability control. On the other hand, with the roof line block visibility, no rearview camera and blind-spot monitors.

Dodge has reduced the price on the model top-of-the-line R / T, and it added leather and heated seats to the options list for 2013 SXT. Base Avenger SE include air conditioning, power windows, locks and mirrors, 17-inch wheels, split-folding rear seat, and the seat fabric, but it's the only model in the lineup that will be saddled with a four-speed automatic. SXT adds power driver's seat, 17-inch alloy wheels, fog lights, leather trim, automatic climate control, heated mirrors, and more. A Bluetooth hands-free interface is less than many of the lineup, but the satellite radio and a USB port are standard or optional on all models, and the navigation system is now offered on the Avenger, as is Boston Acoustics premium sound system.

For 2013, there is also Rallye group that brings improved performance 18-inch alloy wheels, black bezel headlamps, body-color grille, rear spoiler, and is available in black and red cloth interior.
