Safety has been an area in which the 2013 Dodge Avenger did not disappoint. This has been the IIHS Top Safety Pick, and is equipped with curtain airbags and stability control.
Avenger has done well in crash tests, it received an overall score of four stars in NCAP tests federal government (with a four-star scores for tests both frontal and side impacts), and get a new Top Safety Pick status from the Insurance Institute + for Highway Safety (IIHS) - although it achieved 'acceptable' rating in a small test-new frontal overlap.
All Avenger models include dual front, side and curtain airbags, plus anti-lock brakes, stability control, and active headrests.
There is one serious problem, however, the rear pillar and the roof line thickness can block visibility, and no rearview camera and blind-spot monitors.
