Some crash-test scores less, but the available data suggest the latest Chevy Camaro more crashworthy than before - and better than some of the best-selling sedan.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) five-star rates Camaro coupe overall, a very good score for a sporty car. However, it has not been tested convertible - and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has not tested any Camaro at all.

The usual safety features are standard in Camaro, six standard airbags, anti-lock brakes, and stability control, to GM's OnStar telematics system, equipped with a six-month emergency services.

Visibility is the duty of the Camaro. The high beltline Camaro obstruct visibility for drivers more normal height, especially for shorter drivers. Compromised rear visibility for all drivers with thick rear roof supports and a small rear window. Camaro has a standard rearview camera and parking sensors - items that are needed, given the terrible rear visibility due to the coupe body style. They are not available on the LS coupe and optional on the next trim level, but standard on the convertible.

Bluetooth is an option on some models, too. We think, given the prevalence of cell phones, it's a necessity.

GM redesigned the OnStar button and mirror Camaro this year, will be frameless design that creates a little more viewing area. Every little amount in this case, like the Camaro rear glass and side mirrors are very small.
