Quality 2013 Ford Fusion

It has not grown significantly in any dimension, but the 2013 Ford Fusion sedan is almost full size, in terms of interior volume. It's quite comfortable for four adults, one fifth in a pinch, but the cabins were reorganized in some subtle way that shows the new debt to European tastes.

The figures show that the Fusion is better than some of its closest competitor, at least on paper. It rose to 112.2 inch wheelbase, nearly 5 inches, and overall length of 191.7 inches, about an inch more than in 2012. At 72.9 inches wide, 44.3 inches Fusion also has a front seat leg room of 38.3 inches and rear seat leg room, head room while check in at 39.2 inches and 37.8 inches, respectively. Interior volume of 118.8 cubic feet or more cubes just shy of a full-size obstacles EPA, 16 cubic feet of trunk space is good, if not bigger titanic like Taurus and 20-cubic foot of his whopper.

By comparison, Altima, Sonata and Passat all have shorter wheelbases and shorter - than the Passat, which is the same overall length as Fusion. Sonata beat Fusion front seat leg room with almost an inch, Altima, by 0.7 inches - but fell far shy Passat, with nearly six inches. Passat wins in the back seat with nearly four inches of leg room, though, with the Altima and the Sonata behind Fusion by nearly two inches. Fusion, it seems, is a better balance between the front and rear.

We have driven Fusions with manual and power seat, and found both front seat space and comfort in both, although the manual chair, there's too much front-end tilted down pillows for our tastes. Thinner seats and seating position seems to be higher than before, while the front passenger foot 'should not be in a bit, around the wheel wells intrude slightly into the chamber. Headroom is very good, with several inches to spare even for six-footers - but no cars were equipped with the optional sunroof is available for testing.

In the rear seat, high cut doors for easy entry and exit, and the pillows were high. As is the case with the Nissan Altima and Volkswagen Passat, the six-footer to make contact with the headliner, the Fusion, it's in the back of the head, and a fast roofline does not affect as much space as it can. I find at least one or two inches of knee room in the back after I set the front seat to leave a few inches between my legs and dash.

In most of our test cars have driven so far, the panel has been installed Fusion and materials properly. and well chosen. Sound attenuation especially well done, as the new Chevy Malibu, there is little drivetrain noise heard above the beltline, unlike cars like the Sonata and Passat. We would quibble with some of the textures in the Fusion, though, especially at full-tilt version. Upholstery fabric has a sheen to it's base, it is even more true on Hybrid models, and the only option would relieve skin look cheap. We're no fans of piano-gloss black trim, either, because it scratches so easily - and cockpit Fusion wear a lot of it. Close the dash is soft to the touch, though, and the switches and controls operate with precision, down to the thump, soft vibration-free as they latch closed doors.
