Although Acura does not want to dwell on the base Honda Civic for ILX, it's there - but it's all under the skin. Outside, ILX is the car itself, with a low and wide proportions, long hood and short rear deck, aerodynamic character line and signature Acura front-end look.
Up balance between crisp and fluid, taut and smooth, exterior ILX are younger take a compact luxury car than you will find anywhere else in the segment. Generally speaking sporty proportions (perhaps more so than the actual performance of the car is not), but also the improvement and confidence.
Inside, the cabin simliarly ILX are young, at least compared to the competition, with the texture of the surface layer varies in creating a sense of cascading, flowing connected on the dashboard and through the cabin. Perspective is dominated by the driver, the focus is easy to read instruments and displays the information on the main panel, while the center stack is set high and forward for better eye-up visibility.
The rear seats more clearly resolved, but still feel part of the cabin as a whole, and the entry-luxury ILX's design aesthetic.
