Interior 2013 Scion FR-S

With inspiration drawn from classic Japanese sports cars - Toyota all - such as the 2000 GT, Sports 800 and AE86, Scion FR-S and another friend platforms bear the hallmarks of the original sports coupe formula: hood low, streamlined roof, and short rear end cliff.

Distinguishing FR-S Subaru BRZ, which is basically the same car wearing different badges, is in the details. The FR-S gets its own treatment of the front and back-end, with a slightly less aggressive grille opening, but the overall effect is the same. Attached mild fender bulge on the hood of the car, visible from the cockpit. A short flat area between the A-pillar and fender, intended to mimic, long lines widened from 2000 GT, ended up being a bit too compressed in the FR-S and its companion, but that was our only complaint with the exterior of the FR-S.

Inside, the cabin is well finished in carbon-look accents and solid, durable-feeling plastic. Many elements of soft-touch can be found on the dashboard, doors and center console area. Overall aesthetic is simple, almost monotonous, and sporty. The cluster puts the tachometer front measure-and-center with a simple information display that gives the driver the necessary details without looking cluttered.
