The 2013 BMW X3 Reviews - If you have previously written off BMW X3 crossover (built prior to 2011 model year) as too hard, too plain or too bland in, we would encourage you to take another look at the 2013 BMW X3. We may not be a fan of the previous model, but the latest version of BMW's compact crossover seems to be hitting all the right buttons.

Everything about the X3 has been improved, from the subtle exterior styling with a larger interior volume, quality and performance adds up. Fuel economy over the previous generation as well, just in case you need another reason to rethink the BMW. We would even say that they are familiar with the sedan will not feel out of place behind the wheel of the X3's, praising us can not remember the model of the previous generation.

Outside, the new X3's styling is much more elegant than before, and crossover (thankfully) does not come across as a hatchback ruggedized. While some BMW models from the past to add design elements like sprinkles on ice cream, X3 makes happy things simple in terms of style. The result is a crossover that will look good parked in the driveway in 2023 as in 2013, and that same "less is more" design theme to bring in, as well. The cabin is meant to be a soothing, wrapped in soft-touch materials soothing color tones and shapes. You get the idea that BMW really spent some time reworking the interior X3, and we'll say it's paying dividends.

Under the hood, the X3 gets buyer's choice of a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder (the xDrive28i models) or a 3.0-liter turbocharged six-cylinder (in the model xDrive35i), both sending power to all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission. Choosing a smaller engine, and you will still get 240 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque, which is good enough to get the X3 from 0-60 mph in 6.5 seconds. It will also provide an EPA-estimated 21 mpg city and 28 mpg highway, which is an advantage of 2 mpg city and 3 mpg highway for the previous model-line six-cylinder engine.

If you need a quick crossover, opt for the 3.0-liter turbocharged six will get 300 horsepower and 300 pound-feet of torque, enough to shave a full second run from 0-60 mph. Punishment is, of course, fuel economy, which dropped to 19 mpg city and 26 mpg highway. Either model is also equipped with "Driving Dynamics Control" to improve throttle response and shift for maximum performance, maximum ride comfort or maximum fuel economy.

Although the 2013 BMW X3 is a compact crossover officially, it grew in size to approach the first-generation X5. The advantage is that there is more passenger room and more cargo room than the previous model, and where is this more evident than with the rear seat leg room. Given the conventional form of this crossover, there is plenty of headroom for front and rear passengers, too, and generous cargo capacity. in fact, if you routinely carry more cargo than the second row passengers, BMW even has an optional rear seat to allow more flexibility.

Standard feature list includes things such as Driving Dynamics Control, power liftgate, power front seats, automatic climate control, Bluetooth phone integration and BMW iDrive controller. The main choices include things like a navigation system with 8.8-inch LCD screen, head-up display, panoramic sunroof, Park Distance Control and Lane Departure Warning. As with most German brands, prices rose rapidly as the options pile on, although xDrive28i starts at under $ 40,000, check the box too much choice can easily make sticker price is over $ 55,000.
