In the midst of land between the station wagon and a full-size sport utility vehicle is a crossover. Crossover and some come from as neat as the GMC Acadia, eight or seven-passenger utility vehicle that shares some of the equipment that goes with the Chevy Traverse and Buick Enclave, but wearing chunky sheetmetal all its own.

Available with both front-wheel or all-wheel, Acadia has a single powertrain motivates all versions. It is a 3.6-liter V-6 with 288 horsepower, coupled with six-speed automatic that took some encouragement snap off shifts. The Acadia comes in the form of base SL with its usual power, CD player, and cloth interior. By the time you've paid into the Denali version, you will be close to $ 50,000 - but you will have a DVD navigation, mahogany wood trim, heated and ventilated front seats, leather upholstery, and USB and Bluetooth connection for your phone.

It's almost as useful as a minivan, and do not have sliding side door vehicle that condemned them to the status of "haughty-wagon", at best. The Acadia is a little harder than that - and it looks the part too.

With the new Denali models joined the lineup in the 2011 model year, Acadia largely taken for 2012, with some new additions in the mix.

The 2012 Acadia comes in SL, SLE, SLT and Denali versions. All bids trim 3.6-liter V-6 engine and six-speed automatic, but the interior differs widely. SL and SLE models are more affordable cloth sport seats are basic but comfortable, while the SLT and Denali models have leather-upholstered chairs. The Denali, in fact, is perforated leather, paired with mahogany trim and leather dashboard trim for doors and steering wheel.

All crossover Acadia has a standard power locks, windows and mirrors, cruise control, front and rear air conditioning, satellite radio, and a USB port. In the SLT version, 10-speaker Bose audio system is offered, along with a six-disc CD changer. On three trim levels, options including power tailgate, heated front seats, a head-up display, dual-pane sunroof, Bluetooth, and a DVD entertainment system. In Acadias with DVD player, USB port engaged in the dash-top bin, leave your music player out of sight - but perhaps out of mind as well.

The Acadia Denali make the most of their standard features. Along with 20-inch wheels, HID headlamps and a new grille, Denali adds a DVD navigation with real-time traffic, three-zone climate control, Bluetooth, remote start, and heated and ventilated front seats.

New this year is electrical outlet in the center console, revised trim pieces, and on Denali, hill-hold technology.
