While larger engines run counter to the trend toward smaller engines and turbocharging, the SRX feels more confident and smooth with it-and more interesting. Overall, the SRX is not a very useful vehicle for driving, or highly space-efficient or fuel-efficient, but its strength is as a vehicle with a lot of feel-good style and luxurious comfort, and a different cabin atmosphere is more distinguished than other luxury crossover in this price range.

The 2012 Cadillac SRX looks like superstar safety, with top five-star ratings from the federal government as well as the Top Safety Pick status from IIHS. In addition to the usual list of safety features, OnStar roadside and emergency assistance services included in all SRX models, as well as stability control and anti-lock brakes.
