All standard safety features you would expect here come standard in FX, and as with most luxury vehicles priced in the region, a number of (expensive) high-tech active-safety option can help you avoid accidents in the first place.
Lane Departure Prevention follow the road markings on the road, tell the driver, and can even apply the brakes lightly, while the advanced cruise control system can bring the FX to a complete stop if traffic slows.
Visibility of course a problem, as you might expect given the curvy body and thick rear pillars, but it was not as bad as you might think. Because FX crossovers and SUVs are not as high as others, so you will be more on the way. Get the optional Around View Monitor, and it helps a lot with parking, shows an overhead view of the vehicle.
And still do not like the way many conventional crash-test to measure FX, because it is a relatively low-sales-volume vehicles. But insurance-funded Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has given it the 'good' ranking for frontal and rear collisions (although they did not test for side impact).
In addition, the FX35 and FX50 have all the safety features that buyers of this type of vehicle should expect: standard front side airbags, side curtain bags that protect front outboard and rear passengers, anti-lock brakes, and electronic stability control.
